Why People Move to Corbett

 Population: about 2,300

 Elevation: 2100 feet

Known as the Western Gateway to the Columbia River Gorge, Corbett is a small town that sits at the edge of the Gorge on one side and the big city of Portland on the other.  This gives it a great balance for those looking for small town living with big city benefits.

Because Corbett is in such a great location, it is a popular place to live if you want to be in the middle of it all.  The town is located between the Sandy River and Crown Point.  It is accessible via I-84 and the Columbia River Historic highway.  The peaceful countryside is full of fresh food markets, farms, and campsites.  This town just can’t get any more Oregonian!

Corbett is not a large town, but it does make up for it with style and uniqueness.  The downtown area is recently refreshed and filled with charming restaurants, boutiques, and bars.  There are plenty of local professionals around for your family needs, as well as tourists on a seasonal basis.  The Corbett School District is award-winning, so even your kids will be benefitting by living in this great little town.

Get Access to the Bustling City

Although the town is small and rather rural, there is plenty to do nearby.  Portland is just a 20-minute drive away where you have access to malls, restaurants, bars, and all kinds of recreation.  Many people who live in Corbett commute to Portland where jobs are plentiful, but there are a few jobs within the tourist, education, and farming industries if you want to work locally.

Sell or Buy a Home in Corbett

If you’re looking to purchase a home in in the Gorge, Corbett is a great place to buy. However, due to its close proximity to Portland, breathtaking views of the Columbia River Gorge, and award winning school system, home prices in Corbett are rather high.  Inventory is extremely low at any given time due to the size and stability of the community. It's typical to see only 5-10 properties on the market at any given time. It can be difficult to find a property in Corbett for under $400,000 unless you’re working with an experienced, local realtor like Jenelle McCleary
